Yeah it's honestly a bad habit of mine. I'm trying to be a bit more open with just letting the album flow before making any judgements, but first impressions are hard to ignore. And yeah, I don't get the whole "you must listen to an album dozens of times before finally getting a hold of it" thing. I generally listen to an album once or twice and I get a pretty good grasp of things. Part of that is I personally believe in the power of a singular experience. It makes listening to an album a much more special moment when you know you're probably never going to listen to it again. Makes you have to listen carefully, and take in everything. Listening to an album repetitively just kills the album. I feel that if I listen to an album 3 or 4 times the album just dies to me. The specialness of it is ruined. Idunno, maybe that's just me being weird, lol.

To be fair, real life is pretty great too. Though digging through music is a great part of it if you have time.
