My basic musical preferences (there are always some exceptions):

- Melody goes over anything else. If there are no catchy choruses, it's (probably) not gonna please me too much - unless it's very rhythmical. If there is no melody nor rhythm, you are probably listening to your microwave oven gone mad.

- Vocal lines rule over technical virtuosity. I'm not a musician myself so I don't care how godly this or that solo is. But I like to sing along to poppy cheese like every other guy. I can stand completely instrumental albums, but I hardly ever enjoy them.

- I don't care about lyrics at all so don't recommend me stuff heavily relying upon lyrics/storyline. I wouldn't read the booklet, and I tend not to pay attention to sung lyrics unless it's some kind of "Na-na-naaah" chorus. I like those.

- I prefer simple songwriting over avantgarde crap. I'm a simple guy so I don't like my music intellectually challenging. If you have to use a calculator to write your songs, your music is not for me.

- politics, racial issues, religion, nationality or language don't play a role for me. I like CCM as much as NSBM if it meets the above criteria. And "Na-na-naah" sounds similar in most languages anyway.

My rating system:

5.0 means a perfect album in all details, but as there is no such thing, you will (probably) never see a 5.0 here.
4.5 is only for albums that proved to be excellent in at least 3 spins (with at least 1 week pause between them)
-------------------HALL OF FAME-------------------------
4.0 is the highest rating an album can get for first and second spin.
3.5 means great album overall, with more pros than cons.
------------CHAMPIONS' LEAGUE ENTRY ZONE-----------------
3.0 means good but rather generic album, with only handful of memorable moments.
2.5 means there were some good parts or 1-2 good songs, but rest was boring, chaotic or both.
-------------------RELEGATION LINE-----------------------
2.0 means technically good but completely unappealing album.
1.5 means a major flaw ruining otherwise average music - ear-raping vocals or false notes.
1.0 means some utterly horrible music without any positives.
0.5 has nothing to do with music.

Yeah, he is better at metal. I have listened to samples of his new album. I still like the Confess better. =) I will rate a number of releases this weekend.

I Have a RYM question. I have a profile for Arduini/Balich in queue. It has not gotten approved, yet. I noticed someone added a DRA for the one band. I have the one artist hotlinked and that band is in his hotlinked profile. Why do we have to have this band shown for my profile I submitted? What is the policy in a situation like my profile submission?

Oh...and "Butch" is not on bandcamp as a nickname but it is in metal archives. Which takes priority?

Thanks for the input and the vote. I thought I had done it right, but no one voted and then the entry got changed slightly but there was no vote. I wondered why. That is the only reason I asked. I know that if it is eligible to be approved, it will eventually get auto-approved by the computer by itself. =) I only added them because one of my friends asked if someone knew how on the Metal Board, and I figured most folks that read it didn't know how, especially with some hotlinks involved! =)
