I completely agree with you, it was overshadowed with poor graphics and troubled combat, but the story and soundtrack is incredible. NieR Automata looks like it's going to be another masterpiece.

I actually kind like DotNW. I guess it's because going in I expected it to be the worst because of everything I had read about it, and instead it ended up being kinda middling in all areas, compared to other Tales game, imo, which is still solid. I can honestly say I've gotta decent enjoyment out of all Tales games I've played, and for me plot usually ends up being the tiebreaker when determining ratings, because I like combat and character interactions in all of them I;ve played, except Legendia, which fails at combat and so that's why I'd put it last.

I think I have a crush on Velvet, lol! More seriously, I think she's probably the best written Tales protagonist ever and I love how she develops throughout the game, and I think overall Berseria had the best plot in the series. It's like, they tried going dark with Xilla 2 but there it felt forced, where in Berseria they managed to nail the balance between making it dark, but still giving a satisfying story and still having the overall Tales feel, so it was pretty much perfect. I also loved the combat in that one and pretty much every aspect of it.

Yeah, its themes were interesting and handled very well. I thought the plot probably wasn't quite as good as 3's, but I enjoyed the gameplay a lot more.

I really need to play Nocturne one of these days, maybe sometime in the summer, since I likely won't have as many new games during that time. My big concern, though, is I've heard it's more combat focused and extremely hard, so it might be too much for me to handle, considering P3's normal setting was too much (though that was mostly because the AI controlled party member system was pissing me off.)

I actually need to play more SMT games in general (Devil Summoner 2 is the only non Persona one I've played, and I liked it a lot), but the problem is they're mostly on portable systems or Nintendo exclusives, which doesn't work for me. Nocturne and the two Digital Devil Saga games I'll probably get to at some point, though, because they're downloadable on PS3.

Also Supernatural is probably something I would enjoy. Me liking charming trash, but there are so many seasons. It's a Little overwhelming.

Yeah, that pretty much lines up with what I thought about the game inititally. Though, for me, I haven't even been able to back through it, and probably won't until all the story content they've planned is actually patched into the game, because otherwise I don't see much of a point. Even some of the late game hunts I couldn't do, because I was losing motivation. I definitely like the game as well, but shockingly that one of the rare times where right from the first playthrough I was able to control my excitement over the good parts (I literally cried at the end, and usually that kind of thing would result in a 10 or near a 10 for me, but I didn't let that happen this time) probably because the negative elements were so obvious. It's usually not until either a DLC comes out or I attempt to re-play a game where things go downhill (for example, my Nioh rating took a hit recently, both because of a failed second playthrough attempt and not liking the DLC.)

If you have the season pass for XV, or even if you don't, I definitely recommend Episode Prompto, if you haven't played it yet. The gameplay isn't perfect, but where the Gladio DLC felt kinda rushed and inessential, this one actually has a really good plot and it's so crucial it actually makes me wish they could have inserted it into the main game, as it helps make me understand something about Prompto that made no sense whatsoever in the main game.
