Founded as a Classical Music distributor known simply as Allegro and acquired by brothers Joe, Vince, and Rico Micallef in 1982, the company has grown to become one of largest independent distributors in North America. In 2001, NAIL Distribution became part of Allegro Media Group. In 2013, Allegro acquired Mood Media Entertainment (formerly known as Somerset Entertainment) and its labels and reorganized them under the name Somerset Group.
