For the purposes of RYM, both solo artists and bands in music are simply referred to as Artists.
This page will give you more information about what is on the Artist page. If you want more information about how to add a new Artist, please see the Add an artist page. If you want to know more about Artist profiles, what is on them and how to create one, please see the Artist profiles page.
The biography card is where you can:
In this section, you will find the discography of the artist. The section is divided by release types Album, EP, Compilation, Single, Bootleg / Unauthorized, Video, and Tribute, respectively. In the case of Jane Birkin, no EPs have been added to the discography thus far, so the category is not displayed. You may quickly access a category by clicking its name at the top of the discography section.
In each category, you will find the following columns (column headings which are underlined may be clicked to sort the column):
In this section, you will find the filmography of the artist. This section is much like the discography section.
This section displays lists the artist has been tied to. For a list to appear here, the artist must be added as a distinct "item" and not just simply linked somewhere in the text of a list.
In this section, you may also quickly add the artist to one of your own lists by clicking "Add to list".
This section lists upcoming shows which the artist will be performing in. Here you may also browse past shows of an artist.
This section lists recent message board topics which involved a link of the artist using its ID.
This section lists the users who have contributed to the artist page. Contributing to an artist's page includes initially adding the artist, adding a release to the discography, and creating/editing the artist's profile.
In this section you may also find links to add a release to the discography, add a Various Artists compilation that is a tribute to the artist, edit the artist's profile, and request other types of corrections (which include requests to delete the artist page, delete a release, move a release to a different artist page, or merge duplicate releases).

Biography card
The biography card is where you can:
- Read information on the artist/band (click on ">>" or "show biography" to access the full biography)
- Upload an artist image
- See which genres are associated with the releases of an artist
- Find the artist shortcut ID
- Click to edit the profile
Discography
In this section, you will find the discography of the artist. The section is divided by release types Album, EP, Compilation, Single, Bootleg / Unauthorized, Video, and Tribute, respectively. In the case of Jane Birkin, no EPs have been added to the discography thus far, so the category is not displayed. You may quickly access a category by clicking its name at the top of the discography section.
In each category, you will find the following columns (column headings which are underlined may be clicked to sort the column):
- Released gives the release year of each release. The various weights of these numbers help identify which releases have a specific release date filled-in or if the release contains artwork.
- Title gives the title of each release. Click the title to access the release page.
- Cat # gives the catalog number of each release. If there is more than one issue of the release, the column shows the number of issues. Click this button to expand all issues. A blank entry means there is no catalog number tied to the issue. An unlinked catalog number means there is no label tied to the issue. Clicking a linked catalog number will take you to the label page.
- Reviews gives the number of reviews written for each release.
- Ratings gives the number of ratings for each release.
- Chart gives some statistics about the distribution of the ratings. Weighted rating uses a formula to determine the rating of a specific release instead of a pure average. The popularity shows the popularity of the release compared to all releases in the database.
- Overall gives the overall weighted rating for each release.
- You gives your own rating of the release and/or shows which media you have cataloged it on.
Filmography
In this section, you will find the filmography of the artist. This section is much like the discography section.
Lists
This section displays lists the artist has been tied to. For a list to appear here, the artist must be added as a distinct "item" and not just simply linked somewhere in the text of a list.
In this section, you may also quickly add the artist to one of your own lists by clicking "Add to list".
Shows
This section lists upcoming shows which the artist will be performing in. Here you may also browse past shows of an artist.
Recent discussion
This section lists recent message board topics which involved a link of the artist using its ID.
