Track listings
English «
Before attempting to add a track list to a release, be sure that you are familiar with both the Standards for track listings and Capitalization standards.

To add a track list, navigate to a release page and either select "Click to add track listing for this issue" in the "tracks" section of the issue or click "correct entry" at the bottom of the page:

or

You are also able to add a track list when you first create a new release. See "Add a release".

See below for the different methods to add a track list:

Contents

Entering tracks manually

Simple mode

Adding tracks in "Simple mode" is as easy as selecting the "add track" button for each track and entering the track number, track title, and duration (if known).

Clicking "Add track" will create a new line where you can fill in each track's details.

This is what a completed track list will look like.

Advanced mode

The "Advanced mode" provides the user with more freedom when entering tracks. For instance, the user can now utilize the arrow keys to access different lines in the tracks. This method can be used when copying a list of tracks from another source.

To enter tracks in "Advanced mode", first click "Advanced". Each track must be entered in its own line. One can think of visualizing three columns in the track list: the track number, the track title, and its duration. These columns must be separated by a pipe, "|", when entering the tracks. See example:

Once you have finished entering the tracks, you must switch back to "Simple mode".

Entering tracks using "Copy tracks"

The "Copy tracks" function is a shortcut that can be used when a track listing already exists in the database. This is useful for reissues and alternate formats where the track listing is the same or only slightly different than the original. Entering a release's RYM shortcut will populate the fields with that album's track information.
