You deffo should, to the 5 patrons at the club those nights!

It is my duty as a PhD candidate in mathematics to warn you of your folly. I would write,
"Remember: [assuming that "is" constitutes a symmetric relation on the set of words,] the less is more equation implies the opposite is true – that more is less."
Yes, I know I'm making that assumption but I don't think the full thing would've flown over at popmatters.
Also, PhD candidate in mathematics is the coolest. Didn't know that about you. Any specific focus within mathematics?
Your Doolittle review was awful, not only did you come across as condescending but it appears you get upset at the thought of others liking something more than you. Your metaphors were ridiculous, especially considering it didn't make sense (Rome was made with revolutionary architecture) Doolittle has not only proven to be one of the most influential albums of the past 30 years, but it's als an overall brilliant album. You complain there's a lack of flow throughout the album? The music is very alternative, fun and off the wall, it's supposed to lack cohesiveness.

"And lately, I been on that D'usse, yee / We got LONDON ON DA KEYS!" --> doesn't have the same ring to it...
Fixing momentarily! The guy beneath me really had it in for you huh
Well firstly, I meant analogy, not metaphor, and put simply the analogy doesn't work in the way you want it, considering Rome, even if cruel times, was still incredibly advanced for its time, very inventive and innovative and for that in regards to being one of the first big human civilisations, Rome, like this album does deserve praise, Historians in fact, praise their architecture and advanced culture (for their time) very frequently.
Well put simply, Doolittle and (and Surfa Rosa) is one of the most influential records of the past 30 years with countless bands acknowledging their influence on their musical output. Now, there's not many bands that directly copied their music (although bands have certainly taken parts of their music a little too direct). The thing with the pixies is, no band really sounds just quite like them, not before nor after, their sound is very unique. But as far as big influential acclaimed bands go that were influenced by Pixies, we've got: Radiohead, Nirvana, David Bowie, PJ Harvey, The Strokes, U2, Arcade Fire, Alice In Chains, Weezer, Placebo, Pavement, Modest Mouse and many more. So many influential and acclaimed bands through so many genres, it'd be silly to deny their huge influence as we'd then be denying Nirvana and various other bands influence.
Well my friend, that's just it, Pixies did push art. They mixed various genres, creating their own unique sound whilst adding so much personality. The way they mix these genres flawlessly with so much personality is what makes Doolittle so special. The musicianship and song-writing is solid and Black Francis is one of the best vocalists in rock. The mix of these harsh moments and very melodic pop hooks is not only quirky and bizarre but brilliant. There's moments of pure ferocity and pure sweetness, but there's always an artsy noise like style shining through. A truly innovative record, a landmark that deserves all its praise.
I apologise for my over-reaction as people can like and dislike whatever records they want. My issue was in the way you condescendingly complained at those who do like it, because we can talk about what we find fascinating or awful about the record all day, but it's still completely subjective so if people (like myself) believe it to be a masterpiece then they should be able to, I don't think Hospice is all that great, but you're perfectly entitled to give it a 10.
