I try pretty hard not to take into account notoriety of any sort in my ratings. Impact on history doesn't really have any place in ratings, in my opinion. I just try to ask myself how much I like it, and leave it at that. I figure the important things about music are the ones that don't have numbers attached.

I like a lot of different sorts of things, and I'm always trying to expand (Well not always, but most of the time). My emphasis tends to be on new music. Also, pretentious hipster garabe.

My ratings are sort of weird (a definite emphasis on the ratings >2.5) because I always try to go for music I think I will like, and I always TRY to like music, even if it is outside of my comfort zone. I'm still pretty stingy with the 4.5s and 5.0s though. My reviews are useless and awful, ignore them. My decent writing goes into my lists (Which I should update more, but there you have it).

My music and movie ratings have card games and board games (respectively) attached, but here are the translations:
5.0- Perfect
4.5- Almost perfect
4.0- Very good
3.5- Good
3.0- Mildly good
2.5- Neither good nor bad
2.0- Mildly bad
1.5- Bad
1.0- Very bad
0.5- Soul sucking
