When I got that way with film, I got into watching TV series. Like I said before, they're shorter than films. You need less of an attention span to watch 45 minute - 1 hour increments than 2 hours+ solid.

I made a top 10 for every year from 195 list, take a look through the past few years: [List314104] 2017 will be added in December.
However, some favourites from the half way point: Arca, Crack-Up, DAMN., A Crow Looked at Me, No Shape, Slowdive

Here's hoping Mourinho can get it together as well, starting with winning another trophy on Wednesday and building a team that can play good football and challenge for the title next year

My advice would be to watch TV but I wouldn't start something as heavy going as The Wire if you want a little bit of a rest, Game of Thrones would be what you'd want if you haven't seen it. The Sopranos too, a lot of people feel you only really get into The Wire after about 10 episodes. Go for something lighter and tackle The Wire when you're really in the mood IMO.

That's truly great, as long as I agree with your assessment. I feared Lynch with Twin Peaks may have been of its time - where he could have that freedom back in the 1990s to do whatever the fuck he wanted, where as now, there'd be more constraints. Which could've been part of the reason why he momentarily left the project as well as money disputes. It would've been criminal had they made a safe almost Twin Peaks reboot to try and appeal to a mainstream audience. Lynch's work is always better in years with retrospect as well, re-evaluated masterpieces, I imagine Twin Peaks S3 may be the same.

That's a bad reason to be put off, as it's so widely popular, you'll get all types of people watching it but it's one of the most acclaimed and adored series by critics and fans alike. A truly respected work, and if you're a fan of dark drama, gritty violence, plot twists and turns, battle sequences and fantasy you'll love it and it will have you hooked after a few episodes.

The Fantano theory is that Fantano/theneedledrop who's an independent Youtube reviewer, when he reviews an album, depending on his score it influences the overall rating on here. So many times he's rated something high and shortly after, there was a spike in ratings. When he's rated something low, the album plummets. The new LCD Soundsystem single was at a 4.00 and 24 hours later after his review it was 3.83. There are anomalies where his review didn't have any impact, though.

I can't wait to start it, an odyssey and backstory back to Twin Peaks could be perfect because if all goes well, which it has at least critically, then there's room for a potential season 4 as Lynch has already said he thinks he's done with film, why rush into a story? As long as it doesn't become too drawn out, always waiting for a payoff that never happens it could be wonderful.

I think you can make anything out to sound terrible if you aren't able to form coherent reasoning why you feel something is so good. If you're feeling film fatigue, it's the perfect thing to watch because while still high brow and respected, it's the most fun "serious" TV you could watch.
Let's be honest - dragons, battles, duels, armies, kings, wizards, zombies, assassins, magic, tits. What's not to like? We've all had that mate that rambles about utter shit and you can barely follow it, though.

It's a debatable phenomenon as to whether it even exists, but there are correlations and it's a really weird one. I'm a fan of watching his videos, but often disagree with him. He has an account on here, as well.

Twin Peaks and David Lynch is always gonna baffle and frustrate people but over time his genius just grows as does the appreciation for him. Rewatching his work only increases your appreciation level of it, certainly though, the Twin Peaks revival has undoubtedly been a success without even having watched it because the reaction so far has been really popular and the critics love it, I was afraid it'd get a similar response to Wayward Pines and everyone would wonder what the point in even bringing it back was. I'm gonna try and find some time to watch the first two episodes over the weekend.

I hope he didn't talk about plot too much, or at least, I hope you wasn't listening because the twists and turns are the best thing about it and I'm guessing the writers are better storytellers than your mate.

He used to use skits a lot more relating to his fictional roommate, who's called Cal. It's just him with a moustache and a Minnesota accent, and they could be quite amusing when it'd cut to "Cal" for him to offer his opinion. Think the incorporation of humour and memes was what got him 1 mil subscribers which he just hit, he's the indie critic of the modern age. I don't really get his haters, but don't understand his blind followers. I always disagree with him, he gave the new Arca a 5/10 (another record that went from 3.52 to now being 3.39 straight after his review) and I love that record. His opinion is always interesting, though. LCD Soundsystem's new record is finished, I dunno if you've listened to them but I am so hyped.

Oh lord, imagine a Twin Peaks reboot done by anyone other than Lynch. That would've been a horrific waste of time, I'm glad it's Lynch/Frost and a natural continuation.

Okja is gonna be on Netflix in June, which is cool. Will watch that, and me and my girlfriend both wanna see Baby Driver so will def see that in cinema.
