hi man, just wondered if youve heard any stuff by associates? if u like prefab sprout it might be ur thing. ive not got round to them yet, though heard a bit on youtube. theres also Lloyd Cole, his first album i recently heard, nice 80s gtr pop
It's fine, stuff happens. "Alison" is a great tune, I agree with you; it's probably the best thing that Slowdive has ever done. Loveless is great, but I think that I like Souvlaki more.
I liked Something/Anything? quite a bit. I thought that its fourth side (referring to the vinyl format) was slightly unnecessary, but the rest of the album was solid. It's really impressive that Todd Rundgren played all of the instruments on Something/Anything ? himself.
I've heard very interesting things about A Wizard A True Star. From what I've read about it on Wikipedia, it's classified as art rock. A RYM user named liebchen recommended A Wizard A True Star to me a long time ago, as well.
I also saw that you rated The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society & Revolver. I'm happy to see that you loved those albums, but I was kind of surprised to see that you rated them. I know that you like The Beatles & The Kinks, but I thought that you were trying to rate obscure stuff on RYM.
I see. Fair enough; shoegaze is kind of an acquired taste, and it's not for everyone. I'm happy to hear that you listened to Ride, though.
Good to hear that you've been getting into The Replacements. I agree with you, "Swingin' Party" is amazing. I love its lyrics.
I saw that you've been rating some of The Kinks' stuff recently. I'm glad to see that you liked The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society; that album is fantastic.
