My standards for a good album must hit on at least one of the following aspects:
1. Interesting and/or relatable lyrics/subject
2. Unique instrumentation/beats
3. Not your bland/standard vocals (I like a lot of "bad" singers)
I also have to say that nostalgia certainly can play a role in some of my ratings. Certain albums may get a higher score then they should just simply due to their impact earlier in my life.
