Hello good sir, Duca here. Do you remember posting in my "BADASS metal songs" thread at all? Well, I'm gonna willfully ignore that one time you totally DISSED my awesome Poké-puns thread (shame on you!) and have a listen to what you had recommended.
So, you wanted me to check out RÄTÄK - "Mutant Rät Infestation", is that right? Hmmm, rat metal... doesn't sound gimmicky at all. Are they friends of yours? Anyway, the beginning didn't sound too promising, but luckily the tune gets better as it goes on. That solo section fuckin' kicks my ass, a perfect combination of groovy riffing and tasteful noodling. Are these guys into Artillery, by chance? As I play the track again, I begin to appreciate the little details like the bass being loud and clear and the fact that not a single section is repeated twice. This is not bad at all actually. For what it is, it's punchy, diverse and a lot of fun to be honest. No complaints, just wish the beginning was stronger.
You see, I'm sure you're not a bad guy. Looking at your favorite artists, there's plenty of ground for us to get along on here. It's just... I'm sorry, I have a hard time trusting people who don't enjoy Pokémon. Nothing personal. (kind of srs) Thanks for the rec, have a good day!
I see; to be fair, the events in question took place several months ago, I'm not sure why I still recollect said events at all. Firstly, I started this "BADASS metal songs" thread and I kind of lost interest in it for a while, but as of late I've been back listening to more stuff. Secondly, i came up with a "Awful Poké-band puns" thread, which I thought would be fun, but you were all like "I don't want to live on this planet anymore", "I'm concerned about the well-being of mankind" and whatnot.
On the outside, I was like "dude, chill out, surely there must be worse things than that", but on the inside, I was like "JEEZ, what's wrong with this guy, he doesn't even like Pokémon, how could you NOT like Pokémon, I'm the one who shouldn't be living on this planet! Off to my Poké-ship!" It's like some kind of silent oath was broken that day. Y'know, "THOU SHALT NOT TALK SHIT ABOUT POKEMON" or something like that.
Look, I know this sounds bizarre, but to a '90s kid, Pokémon is serious business, okay? And if you don't agree with that, you can go back to your stupid ...I don't know, "The A-Team" or something. And by the way, you better hide because these little dudes right here are coming for you and they're gonna, like, totally ruin your "Back to the Future" original trilogy boxset on VHS. Ain't that gnarly, huh!? You've been warned, you... you DWEEB.
How do you like dat '80s slang. Well, that's enough goofing around for now, back to work.
Just wanted to say you're a good friend in the descriptor fight and that your taste in music is quite excellent, I often find myself in agreement. Good to have such active users as you around that are also thoughtful.

RE: the jazz thread, I didn't look past Cosmogramma (because this is so obviously not a jazz album, even if Coltrane's son is on it) in the modern recs because was too frustrated to see a divider between 80 years (give or take) and then 17 years. And looking at it now, it's like, the only modern jazz artists we're recommending are people associated with Kendrick Lamar?
