Fixed screen

Fixed screen video games take place in a single screen with delimited borders and no scrolling, mostly in top-down and side view but can also happen in isometric games. Fixed screen games are generally based on levels or stages that change after completion, sometimes into a totally different stage while others keep the same design but change different values as speed or number of enemies for a growing difficulty. It is very common that borders are not solid and after reaching one of the borders the character appears in the opposite side of the screen. Genres that happen in a fixed screen are fixed shooter and single-screen platformer.
