Title
On a glance it just seems like the old Pac-Man but with changing mazes and a smarter AI(which I feel sometimes is too nuanced to notice). Certainly substantial differences, which makes this more focused and lived-in than the first Pac-Man, but is that enough for it to receive accolades? I can't tell.

That this game places a female protagonist is quaint, but it is such a predictable, corporate, Batwoman kind of move to make that I see its achievement as shallow. Then again, not a lot of male protagonists at this time were really stunning etiher.

Pac-Man 1.5
This is essentially Pac-Man 1.5, its essentially just Pac-Man reskinned with lipstick and bow, a little more variety in maze design, and slightly improved AI. Yeah this gives it a slight edge over Pac-Man and hey woman power and all that, but over the years Pac-Man has had so many versions and remakes that its hard to keep track, and this has most likely been improved in some newer version.

Equal Rights
I always considered anything of this nature that came after Pac-Man to be somewhat redundant. The maze is different, as are the colours and sounds, but it's really just the same thing. It would be like Space Invaders being repackaged as "Girl Invaders" only to find that the aliens are all wearing lipstick.

Apart from a few differences in the maze layout, and some very minor powerup changes, this is pretty much the same as pacman. It was ingenious of them to add a bit of character to the playable yellow blop and change the name a bit, and they earned tons of moneys because of it. Again, its pretty much pacman so it im giving it the same rating.

    technically not a different game.. equivalent to an "expansion."
    the original ms. pac-man was a modification kit that was added onto the original pac-man (originally known as Crazy Otto and made by fans from General Computer), with the cabinet designs being replaced to make it feel new

      I think that is pushing a modern standard onto an old game when it wouldn't have been seen that way at the time. A lot of arcade games were minorly different from one another, direct ripoffs, or only had minor upgrades from the original like in this case.

      I think the small differences this one has on paper from the original don't seem like much, but they amount to a very different experience as the game progresses.
