Title
Begin
The foundation fighting games were built on still has a lot to offer in terms of charm, I love how these characters behave, I love how fucking satisfying the punch sound is when you punch a guy in the nuts or roundhouse kick his head off or just knock him out cold. I love how the characters look after being hit and the goofy ref in the back.

Also the fighting has some depth and tactics involved, but it's insane how ahead of it's time it was.

Title
This is where all the cool movesets come from in fighting games, as well as the "win three rounds" rule. You fight on scoring a punch on the other player, no life bars, which can be either easy as cake or stressful. It's also laden with bonus matches ala dodging objects flying at you, chopping blocks, or stopping a bull. The moves themselves are easy to understand but not entirely manouverable or springy as you'd expect from later fighting games.

Play the 2 player Vs. mode!

It's not a terrible game if you played the original arcade version with its duel joysticks. But avoid the NES version at all cost.
