    Everyone hypes up that mission but it was a pretty generic abandoned asylum horror map IMO. I'd rather rank the Overlook Manse and Museum as the highlights of this game.

    More importantly, I think this has the best story and humour of any Thief game. Gamall is a great villain.

      It's not generic. Some real homework was done to establish it's creepy backstory and all the specific inhabitant rooms. Not to mention how uniquelly abrupt the infernal animations are - this is the closest thing we got to a Jacob's Ladder gamification. But i agree that the Mansion and Museum are not receiving enough credit for how amazing they are.

      Yeah it's well-designed but the creepy haunted asylum setting was something I didn't really find inspiring.

      It may look generic now, but in 2004 first-person perspective horror experience was a novelty.
