Steampunk

A subgenre of historical science fiction that focuses on steam-powered technology, often in a setting inspired by the industrial era of Western civilization. The technology found in steampunk typically far outstrips anything that existed in real life during this era (including airships, computers, and advanced weaponry), and can be considered an example of retro-futurism.
