i played the New Vegas DLC as they came out, and i distinctly remember this being my least favorite... but I still kinda gave it the benefit of the doubt since everyone seemed to love it. played it again a little over a year ago and honestly it's still the worst. like the setting itself is interesting, but there is no way in hell this dialogue should be praised. like... Bethesda has written better dialogue for their DLC's (Shivering Isles and Point Lookout in particular)
Started this DLC today. And wow I would have never expected myself to not have fun with F:NV. The intro movie was cool. But everything after that is just such a slog. Awful dialogue that just goes on so unbelievably long that I started skimming the text after 10-15 minutes. And just started choosing the out dialogue options to get them to stop talking. Convoluted quest design that I just dont understand. This DLC feels like the opposite of everything F:NV. Guess the free buffs are nice tho.
It's basically 20 minutes of pretty funny dialogues at the start, couple hours of shitty, repetitive gameplay filled with dmg sponge enemies that you often can't sneak past by because they have insane detection rates and 20 minutes of pretty funny dialogues at the end.
I have a distinct memory of this killing the momentum on a playthrough the one (1) time I tried running through it. I guess we'll see what happens this time as I often skip the dlcs but feel like running them this time 'round.
