I really wish I could give this game a higher score.
This is the only arkham game I've ever played and I kinda wish it wasn't. The boss battles are so repetitive and tedious. There are like 5 types of drone tanks throughout the whole game and you can barely tell the difference between each one. You better like those 5 types of drone tanks because they're the only tanks you'll ever see. I didn't really care much for the story, so I can't really tell you if I think it's good or not. The battle mode for the batmobile is pretty slow and extends the length of the game. And it was pretty easy to tell that the Arkham Knight was Jason Todd. Anyway, the combat is pretty fun and satisfying and performing beatdowns are so fun to do. There was this one part in the game when I was stuck and couldn't get out because of the sentry and every time I grappled back up the joker kept telling me hints and the fourth time I grappled up, the joker said "No more subtle hints, use the damn car!" that was pretty funny. The grapple really fun to use. But the missions are the most repetitive things ever, travel to the mission area, but up bad guys, solve a puzzle, and maybe use the batmobile to take out the drone tanks. This game has so much potential but it's wasted on the batmobile parts. This kind of ruined the rest of the arkham games for me because I'm worried that they might stink as much as arkham knight does.

I’ve played all of the Arkham games and it was my first game to play on PS4. People give this game a lot of shit for different reasons, but it’s honestly my favorite out of the whole series. I Arkham City is quote on quote claimed the best game out of the series but I think it’s honestly overrated. I guess that because I like games for their advancements, as Arkham Knight has the most updated and advanced combat and stealth. I’d say the bad parts was definitely the horrible boss fights and overused batmobile battles and challenges. Other than that, it has a great story with amazing action. I’d give it an 8 out of 10 for a very good game.

For years I have been sooo hyped for this game it's kinda hard to put into words. I can only describe the experience Rocksteady creates with this franchise as intimate. Very few games allow players to truly feel like they've embodied a character, and in Batman Arkham Knight; YOU ARE BATMAN!!! From the very first minute you step into Batman's shoes you're struck with a massive feeling of power! Between the incredibly fluid "free flow" combat, the plethora of dope ass upgrades and gadgets, to the way NPCs react and cower to you're every move; the bottom line is that you're going to feel like a bad ass playing this game ;) Of course one of the biggest selling points of Arkham Knight is the long awaited introduction of the Batmobile! And from the epic tank battles, Riddler challenges, and even puzzle solving segments; the Batmobile is utilized in as many interesting ways as humanly possible! Thing is, the batmobile sections were shoved down your throat just a bit too much! And the stealth fights with those giant boss tanks were a HUGE pain in the arse! But overall the batmobile made the game feel much more diverse and fresh than in the prev two titles.
The story and side quests in this game are wonderfully written, well acted, and even take on a much darker tone than in previous games which was a very welcome surprise. Scarecrow makes for a fantastic main villain what with the nightmarish toxic he frequently unleashes upon you and the citizens of Gothem. The way that the Joker was injected into the story was actually quite brilliant (C'mon! You can't actually have a Batman game without the Joker can you?). And the Riddler/Catwomen side story was surprising interesting and creepy, almost as though it were inspired by Saw or something. Complaints? Hmm... I was still hoping to see a bit more gameplay diversity, these games have a bad habit of making you do the same types of things over and over again, plus I feel like there's less puzzle solving in this game than in previous games, the game never really makes good use of all of the weapons and gadgets you acquire.
I also thought that the "Arkham Knight" character was pretty annoying... and for whatever reason the game froze on me a few times :( Otherwise this is a pretty good game, arguably the longest and biggest Arkham game so far! I would definitely recommend it if you're into this franchise!

people shit a lot on this game's story but it's really not much worse than the other games the strong point of these narratives always has been the performances and how Rocksteady understands these characters well, but the writing was never that good
the only game I actually think the story is very good is Origins, which wasn't even made by Rocksteady
glad this appears to be getting the "old game that used to be much maligned now is getting retroactively reevaluated in comparison to newer, more divisive game" treatment
Probably the weakest of the trilogy thanks to overuse of the Batmobile but still better than Spider-Man 2018. Huge variety of sidequests most of which have actual stories and satisfying conclusions, not just collecting things or beating up the same guys in the same scenarios over and over. Man-bat's sidequest stands out to me. Having to manually find and land on him without relying just on the quest marker, learning about his backstory, all great.
Massively underrated, these games each one-upped each other in my opinion. Batmobile sections were fun and often interesting besides some of Riddler's puzzles/races. And it definitely doesn't constitute nearly as much of the game as some people make it out to.
