biggest game disappointment of all time for me. rehashed batman tropes we have seen in every medium dozens of times, god-awful bat-tank sections that are somehow trivial and tedious at the same time, the main story quest non-ending all made 15 year old me see the $40 dollar gamestop trade-in seem worthwhile. the only improvements I see over Arkham City are the visuals and Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill's respective performances. joker is somehow even more entertaining on screen post-mortem
people shit a lot on this game's story but it's really not much worse than the other games the strong point of these narratives always has been the performances and how Rocksteady understands these characters well, but the writing was never that good
the only game I actually think the story is very good is Origins, which wasn't even made by Rocksteady
glad this appears to be getting the "old game that used to be much maligned now is getting retroactively reevaluated in comparison to newer, more divisive game" treatment
Probably the weakest of the trilogy thanks to overuse of the Batmobile but still better than Spider-Man 2018. Huge variety of sidequests most of which have actual stories and satisfying conclusions, not just collecting things or beating up the same guys in the same scenarios over and over. Man-bat's sidequest stands out to me. Having to manually find and land on him without relying just on the quest marker, learning about his backstory, all great.
