Psychological horror
Genre
Psychological horror is defined as horror that relies on the psychological state of the protagonist(s) to build up tension. This can include mental illness, emotional instability, paranoia, and fear. As the mental condition of the characters is the prime driving force behind the narrative, psychological horror tends to show fear-inducing physical objects or entities less than other forms of horror; in some cases, these objects and entities do not even exist.
