Biography
Platinum Entertainment was a label group that was reorganized from the Chicago-based River North Studios in 1991. A distribution agreement with PolyGram was formed in 1993 and several labels were added to the group throughout the 1990s. By 2001, Platinum Entertainment was struggling financially and filed for bankruptcy. Compendia Music Group was later formed from the ashes of the dead label group in 2002.
