Profile
Headquarters: New York, NY
ABC Records history dates back to 1955, when Samuel Clark and Larry Newton launched the Am-Par Corporation as a subsidiary of American Broadcasting-Paramount Theaters. Internationally, ABC opened a United Kingdom office in 1971 and Continental Europe in 1972. Both were shuttered in 1977. In 1979, The ABC Records Group was acquired by MCA Entertainment Music Group, who discontinued the ABC imprints while reissuing the better selling releases under its flagship label.
