Ah. The movie just really frustrated me. The powers of the mirror made no sense. I just kept throwing my hands into the air every time some twist or turn happened. I don't really have anything specific that made the movie a horrible experience for me. It just had no ambition. I thought it could have handled so many of the psychological things better.

Hey, really appreciated your Signs review. Just got into a long argument the other day with some friends who argued those points and even if they're valid I didn't understand how that made it a bad movie.
The mirror does manipulate perception, but it also takes control of people, it kills plants, it devours animals, it can blow out electronics, it can morph time, no one can smash it, and it can project a dead woman who wanders around and scares people. There's also no discernible rhyme or reason in how it operates? It toys with people for x-amount of time for whatever reason before killing them?
Lots of other things bothered me too. Scary, for sure, but not for me.
I will try to at some point, but I think you nailed it with your review. That 'I Want It That Way' scene is fire - don't think I'll ever look at a bottle of water the same way again.
Hey, just replying to your comment left on my TV series list.
The Leftovers is definitely something I'm going to check out, it's been on my list of things to watch for a little while. I was thinking of waiting until season 3 came out as it's the last one, and then binge watch all 3 seasons. As I said to Michael_Corleone89, if they get the third season right, I think it'll be a show that'll get more and more attention and plaudits over time.
A bit like Hannibal, how it improved dramatically from its first season. I think that'll get more love over time as well, and it's definitely worth watching but you still need to at least like the first season but S2 is a huge jump in quality. Hannibal so desperately needs to be picked up by something like Netflix so it can do a fourth and fifth season delving into the Silence of the Lambs chapter of the story.
Fringe is something I'm definitely going to continue, I loved season 3, definitely the best season of the show. As you say, once they get away from the case of the week episode format and into the mythology it's a superb show. And I know that Buffy improves from its first season, I've just never been willing to commit the time.
I much prefer shorter seasons than ones with 20+ episodes.
