why Dark Souls 2?

I see. I played Demon's Souls first back when Dark Souls 2 just came out (or was about to come out). Then Dark Souls 1 and then DkS2. So coming from the former two games DkS2 made some design choices I really didn't like (mostly the obvious, well discussed ones like the incoherent world that pretends to be coherent, a lot of boss fights that are very similar in tactic...).
As for Dark Souls 3, I can totally understand you. The lack of weapon variety is what bothers me the most, though. Every Greataxe for instance pretty much has the same moveset. DkS2 had probably the most usable and still unique weapons from all the games.
Bloodborne is right behind DkS1 for me.

Enjoyed your review of Conker's Bad Fur Day.
The funny thing about that game is that it's the only title in my collection that is objectively kind of bad, but I still really like it.
Realistically, that game is saved by sentimentality; if anything that broken and often unplayable came out nowadays, I would hate it.
