I haven't played it. I cant justify buying a new system for one game these days. I can't remember the last time I played a console game in general tbh.

Yeah. I might get around to it one day but I'm really out of the loop with both console games and action-adveture games these days.

I still haven't played MGS5 yet even though I'm a big MGS5 fan just because I find it hard to get enthused about big budget action-adventure console gaming these days.

I did like Majora's Mask a lot so I've not written off Zelda, but I find the main format a bit uninteresting. I liked a lot of the design choices in MM which were different from the standard Zelda template and gave the game a lot more atmosphere and tension which I loved. I hear BoTW is a bit different to the standard Zelda format and I do like survival games which it is apparently emulating (though I must admit the predictable "I don't usually like survival/crafting elements but I do like them in Zelda" comments have been very eye-rolling). so I'm more likely to give it a go even though I have pretty neutral feelings on the series.

Conker's Bad Fur Day has just always been the one highly acclaimed game which has just struck me as bad and I have a hard time appreciating why people enjoy it. I know different strokes for different folks etc. but I've never really heard anyone defend it for anything other than nostalgia and novelty. Pretty much every other highly acclaimed game I personally didn't like I could at least see why someone might enjoy it, but the continued praise for CBFD just leaves me scratching my head.

Honestly most of Rare's 64 output hasn't aged well (Diddy Kong Racing and Banjo being the obvious exceptions) but even back in the day it was jank. Same for Jet Force Gemini, which while playing "better" is a much worse experience overall.

I'd disagree, lol. I like Tooie's connected world, and also optional collectibles actually gave you rewards for going out of your way (unlike DK 64/Jet Force Gemini where the 100% Collectathon was essential to beating the game)
