I like to listen

It takes me a very long time to rate an album with 5 stars; I'm talking years. I like to make sure it absolutely deserves it. There have been many albums that I expect to give 5 stars within the first few listens, but over time my opinion changes for whatever reason. Other times I realize that an album I have listened to for 10 years is actually deserving of a 5 star rating. Basically, I will default everything with a maximum of 4.5 stars until I realize it should be 5.

I didn't become extremely passionate about music until around 2010. I don't agree with a lot of my ratings from this time-period. I attribute this to having been exposed to much less music. I am updating these as I listen to them again.

The best thing I did for myself during the 2000s was to take a step back from my music obsession for a few years. The start of this profile marks the end of that hiatus. I had another less severe hiatus in '12 and '13. I still listened to a good amount of music but because of life getting in the way I hardly listened to anything new. Got back to it again in '14 and haven't slowed down yet.
