Continuing the story of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic and Tails fight their nemesis Dr. Robotnik for control of the chaos emeralds on the floating Angel Island, where Robotnik plans to relaunch his destructive weapon, the Death Egg. At the same time, the island's guardian, Knuckles the Echidna, chases one of the doctor's henchmen, EggRobo, and comes into conflict with Sonic as well, whom he believes is out to steal the emeralds himself.

Title
This is the second half of Sonic 3 & Knuckles as such this is only half a game that was released months later which is an early example of rushed development in gaming. I suggest checking out my reviews of Sonic 3 and knuckles for more details on why I love this game, however the cliff notes version is as follows, the level design is brilliant, it lets you play as Tails and even Knuckles, and the music is the best in the franchise.

Title
Apparently this was supposed to be the second half of Sonic 3 but was too big to fit on the cartridge so needed to be added on separately. I didn't like it as much as Sonic 3 and found the design to be a little worse and less memorable. To be honest this almost felt like a filler Sonic game and nothing really stood out. Its an okay platformer, but with unmemorable design or bosses it just falls into that sort of generic and mediocre category.
