Olimar is an astronaut whose spaceship has crash-landed onto a strange planet inhabited by plant-like creatures he dubs "Pikmin". Olimar befriends these creatures and, using their various abilities, they help him in recovering the missing pieces of his ship. Unfortunately, he only has 30 days to rebuild his craft before his life-support systems run out.

Tem muito espaço pra refinamento. Quase todas as mecânicas do jogo tem um ou outro problema que incomoda, principalmente na parte da movimentação dos pikmins. A soma desses problemas dá uma truncada na experiência, mas são compensados pelo charme e inovação absurdos que criam uma mistura de RTS com a sensação de “jogo da Nintendo” que seria difícil de imaginar mesmo se alguém te explicasse.

É bastante prazeroso dominar cada um dos quatro (cinco, contando o bônus) mapas de forma eficiente. O level design intrincado e alguns inimigos mais difíceis provocam uma relação de risco x recompensa perfeita.

Sobre a versão de Wii, gostaria que tivessem implementado alguma opção para auxiliar a precisão dos controles de movimento. Ainda assim, me parece a forma ideal de jogar o primeiro Pikmin, em comparação com o original de GameCube.

    despite enemies being able to kill like all of your pikmin in one shot if you don't respect them, this game never really felt frustrating.. well, until the final boss, but i played that one a bit wrong lol. even then i probably beat it within 15 minutes, including retries

      i really like how the timer incentivizes you to play very efficiently and plan out your day while also not actually being very stressful and having a ton of leeway.. which is funny because i critiqued Citizen Sleeper for the same thing. but in that game i feel like the fact that you actually have an absurd amount of time to do things goes against its story and vibe, in this game it doesn't really have that effect

    i loved the game at first but I hated the time limit because I suck and needed to figure out how to play the first 10 days so I was insanely behind and I cannot be bothered to replay the game to try and get the parts again. i have started pikmin 2 and it is, IMO, 10 times better than this game because it doesn't have a time limit. i love olimar though and his logs.

      I respect your opinion, but for me, the time limit is key to this game's incredible atmosphere. Needing one part per day creates just the right amount of tension

    Planning and executing a 9 day run in this is easily the gaming achievement I am most proud of. This game is flawlessly designed imo, between the circular level designs that emphasise maneuverability and the continual tug of war between recovering ship parts, building structures and compensating for your pikmin losses.

    I know everyone has problems with the tripping and pikmin AI in this game, though I think it only adds to the challenge in a fair way. Being able to effectively wrangle and organise your squad is immensely gratifying and adds an additional dimension of strategy to a game that already demands a constant level of forward thinking. It's the only game in the series to really make you feel like you're controlling a separate race of homogenised plant people, rather than just the captains

      I totally agree with you on the Pikmin AI. Lots of people complain about how stupid they are in this game, but they're supposed to be somewhat clueless and helpless. They feel more believable that way--if they always did exactly what you told them to without fail, they would just be little automatons rather than independent little plant guys
