. '83. Contains live versions of "Before the Kiss," + several from Revolution By Night including "Let Go," and better still "Shadow of California" and "Feel the Thunder." I've only listened to the last two so far, but fuck. I'm not gonna lie, this is fucking great to me. And I don't know how much of it's the recording quality and how much is the top-notch sounding performance, but it feels like it lacks any of the restricting elements of the album's '80s gloss production. BOC almost pisses me off sometimes - they've held so much back for so long, even in the live context where setlists are concerned. Those two rarities are absolute bangers here, but it's a stroke of luck that someone put it on YouChube - they've rarely, if ever, played them since that year and pretty much only had those studio versions to represent them.
And that guitar shriek after "scream!" in "Feel the Thunder"! How did they rehearse this stuff and then just play it like 5 times? It's not their smartest or most technical, but it still sounds fun as fuck to play and the crowd at least sounds like they're getting it here.
2016 update may follow next year.
