I have been obsessed with music since I was quite young. for more than 30 years now, listening to music, reading about musicians and collecting records and cds have been my main interests.
I never wanted to specialize. I have collected obscure sixties psychedelia for a while, and I am also really interested in jazz - mostly from the forties up to the mid-seventies. but then I also love indian classical music, dub reggae, hip hop, soul, free improv, glitch-house, west african music, baroque and classical, opera, indie rock, folk, electronica, country blues, tropicalia, americana, easy listening, ambient and whatnot. the older I get, the more I realize that there´s interesting stuff to be discovered in almost every musical genre, and I want to explore as much of it as I can.

about my ratings: please note that the number of stars does not say anything about how "good" or "bad" the recording is. my stars only indicate personal preference. therefore, my ratings say a lot about myself but very little about the recordings.
sometimes I get over-excited. I have been known to rate albums very highly and change my rating to 3 stars two weeks later. so if you want to explore stuff because of my ratings, you have been warned.

here´s my rating system:
5.0: divine. a life-changing experience.
4.5: excellent. probably a classic.
4.0: great. rewards repeated listening.
3.5: good. an enjoyable release.
3.0: ok. has its moments.
2.5: indifferent. this means nothing to me.
2.0: flawed. something is wrong here.
1.5: weak. not worth my time.
1.0: barely listenable. makes my ears bleed.
0.5: abysmal. truly, truly awful.
