"The present day composers refuse to die"
Basicaly I like Jazz from 40's to 70's, Jazz Rock and Fusion, the german, italian, finnish, danish, swedish, british, austrian, swiss, french, polish, slovakian, czech, dutch and american progressive music from the sixties and seventies, including, of course, the UK Canterbury Scene and the Jazz fusion vein of Krautrock from the same period. As you can see on my profile, i don't like the term "prog rock" or "progressive rock". I prefer to use "progressive music", or, in some cases, "avant garde music".
RATINGS ON RYM:
As a musician, I tend to appreciate the albums with an artist vision, seeing the album as an art work, not as a toy. I never rate or review an item based in historical significance; in my opinion, the only two requirements to assign a "number of stars" to a disk is their artistic integrity and musical level- the number of stars assigned does not represent how important is the album, but rather how much I appreciate it. However, of course, there are things that human reason can not explain clearly, and at times the heart can speak louder.
Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni, Bernardo Bertolucci, Alfred Hitchcock, Win Wenders, Fritz Lang, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Giorgio de Chirico, Amedeo Modigliani, M.C. Escher, Hieronymus Bosch, Edgard Alan Poe, E.E. Cummings, Franz Kafka, Clint Eastwood, Marlon Brando are my out of music heroes. A good wine and guitars also makes me smile.
