Crafting

Crafting mechanics allow the creation of items using materials or ingredients. Crafting in games involves the process of combining certain materials in an inventory menu to create new items, using up the materials in the process. It is notably an intrinsic element of open world survival craft games, such as Minecraft (2011), where the player gathers ingredients to create new items helping to survive. The mechanic can also commonly be seen in the RPG genre, where crafting can also be related to character's skills, such as alchemy or blacksmithing.
