It's amazing how Wanted: Dead manages to be so fun and yet so flawed. In every part of the game you can find something extremely good and something very poorly done at the same time. The story surprisingly has some depth and the characters are extremely likable, although the writing is terrible and the story structure is wild. The combat feels very good, although it suffers a bit from the game's overall junkiness and difficulty. Some parts of the game are very stylish (such as the character designs and anime-style cutscenes), but some are too generic (such as the location design). And on top of all that, there were wild performance issues (although they were patched out during my playthrough). And you know what? I had a great time with Wanted: Dead, and at least it has an extremely appealing personality that overshadows most of the game's flaws.

The game is full of hallways funneling you to more hallways (as a means of reusing assets) except it does not end up transitioning to a stage that's especially exciting so maybe it's not liminal

Japanese studio making a eurojank game?? Lmao definitely hugely influenced by deadly premonition and MGS except with a plot that to me at least is incomprehensible on a surface level. The combat is actually kind of fun and challenging if you can look past the janky AI and some poor encounter design. Overall I quite enjoyed it! A game that despite its flaws you can feel the passion that went into making it. Also I am Not sure how team ninja was involved with this game at all?? I know the trailers said from the makers of ninja gaiden but huh??
