Hack and slashes are games that revolve around fast-paced melee combat normally done with a sword or other sharp weapon. Games generally have a deep focus on combo-based combat where foes tend to drop items with action-adventure and puzzle elements to break up sections of fighting. Examples of these games include Devil May Cry, God of War, Golden Axe and Bayonetta.
