Not much to say. Been into metal since I was born, had parents into Sabbath, Priest and Motorhead. Never liked Maiden too much, though. I can't stand (most) power or gothic metal. Female vocalists and metal don't mix 95% of the time for me, unless they're real rockers (Veronica Freeman comes to mind). I like mostly extreme metal but I'll enjoy an occasional foray into more "accessible" sub-genres. Honestly, I can pretty much enjoy anything, as long as it sounds good to me.
For movies, I like mostly horror and psychological thrillers but I'll enjoy the occasional independent movie, as long as it makes me think and that it's well made and acted. I'm not a big movie guy. I watch a few TV series but that's it.
For my personal life, I'd rather keep it to myself so I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm ex-CAF (Canadian Air Force). I had honorable discharge due to injury in action. Hobbies include paintball, hanging out with friends and going to gigs when I can.
Favorite musical genres: black metal and death metal and progressive rock/metal, folk, "medieval rock", some punk and noise rock and also some ambient and shoegaze stuff.
Incompatible genres: most power metal and gothic metal and anything with rapping in it or "beat music" like rap, techno or dance and also, anything with -core in it (except maybe some grindcore)

I've been fairly inactive here lately; that's mostly because I've been:
a) busy with work
and
b) I've been involved in a new metal website/forum, Planetary Sanctum (www.planetarysanctum.com), as a regular poster and now as a moderator. Come check us out! We're building a community of open-minded, fun and friendly metal fans!
