J'ai des goûts musicaux éclectiques, mais j'avoue avoir une (très nette) préférence pour le métal.

Yes, I download music... but when I like, I buy.

I don't see the point of listing illegally downloaded albums. In doing so, you're kinda giving the middle finger to the artists you like.

Yeah, I know, they get more money from merch sold at concerts than with CD sales. But I hardly attend gigs, so buying albums is my small contribution.

I've been listening mostly to metal music since 2001 or so. Mostly, but not exclusively.

Aaaannnd... I use RYM primarily to catalog my music collection.

*½........................ Bad........................................ Obviously not a good album, but there may be a catchy song or two
**......................... Meh....................................... Goes in one ear and out the other; no memorable track, but it's not painful to sit through
**½....................... Below average......................... Lacks something, but is still somewhat enjoyable
***........................ Decent.................................... Nice, but nothing more; usually doesn't have much replay potential
***½..................... Good....................................... A lot of good songs, but there may be some fillers too
****...................... Great...................................... Definitely an album I will revisit frequently over the years
****½................... Awesome................................. Says it all; could be worth a perfect rating depending on my mood of the day
*****.................... Masterpiece (or close to)............ Overwhelmingly epic/moving/fun/crushing album; timeless classic

I generally don't make blind buys and since I purchase albums I find to be decent at the very least, you won't see a lot of low ratings here. ;)
