the amount that this misses the mark on atmosphere compared to the original is astounding. When I found a sp00ky warehouse with sp00ky mannequins, I actually groaned. but for its own quiet adventure-puzzle-platformer, i q enjoyed my time with this
Looking back I think it would've been less harshly-received if it was just some person's fan game. I don't think I would've liked it any more than I do now, but I think a lot of the disdain this gets is because it positions itself as "official," subjecting it to much more scrutiny and hype backlash.
fair enough point actually, I cant deny a lot of my disdain towards this game does come from this weird corporate officiality of it’s existence when Yume Nikki originally was so not about that.
