The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes

everything I've heard from this paints it as the best in the Dark Pictures series

Definitely much better than Little Hope, and probably a bit better than Man of Medan (though I liked that one a lot more than most people.) It has by far the best action sequences in the series to date, and the characters are a lot of fun, in a kind of cheesy horror movie way.

House of Ashes > Man of Medan >>> Little Hope

A doomed patrol searching for WMDs in Iraq is like the most perfect kind of dramatic irony I have seen in some time.

this series is more like an interactive movie than a game. the story is fine. but for those annoying outdated QTE design, i cant rank it high.

The last thing I expected was a space alien like place in this game

Early on, I thought, " Huh, this is THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER (or DOMINION, for the Schrader-heads). Lo and behold, I picked up a Pazuzu statue, and was like, "Oh, your influence is showing in a very not-so subtle way." Just like those movies, bit of a bore, but at least those movies had decent character drama and magical editing of BELIEVER. This has nothing, yet again, Supermassive.

lack of overabundance of shitty jumpscares, low amount of plotholes and quite likeable cast makes it a much better entry than the previous 2.
