Title
Revelations:Persona keeps much of the Megami Tensei DNA in a more heartfelt story. Unfortunately, much of the mechanics feel half-baked. The sluggish animations for otherwise simple spells, the maze-like repetitive dungeons, and the vague formation/targeting system all hamper the experience. Any trace of ideas done right, namely its concept of Personas and the revamped talk system, fall a little flat in its execution.

    shame that the PSP version butchered the art direction by trying to make the game feel like another P3. original PS1 music and menus were fantastic and pretty eerie/cyberpunky, in line the other SMTs of the time.

      should be noted, however, that both versions are kind of a slog to play. the story is great but encounters are absurdly frequent, easy and monotonous.

      fair, but it's still far and away better than the original US PS1 release which is much worse - this game is overall a test run for the series that would improve a lot in the sequels.

    Didn't play the PS1 version, but hot damn the PSP soundtrack has no business slapping so much considering how repetitive it is. This one and P2 have a really unique charm that I'm afraid I won't find when I play 3 and onwards.

      it's also weird how good the OST is outside of the context of the game, like School Days is one of the best pop tracks Meguro has ever done, but it just doesn't work here
