Title
Revelations:Persona keeps much of the Megami Tensei DNA in a more heartfelt story. Unfortunately, much of the mechanics feel half-baked. The sluggish animations for otherwise simple spells, the maze-like repetitive dungeons, and the vague formation/targeting system all hamper the experience. Any trace of ideas done right, namely its concept of Personas and the revamped talk system, fall a little flat in its execution.

    I only played the PSP version, which seemed fine to me. I agree that there were too many random encounters.

    Didn't play the PS1 version, but hot damn the PSP soundtrack has no business slapping so much considering how repetitive it is. This one and P2 have a really unique charm that I'm afraid I won't find when I play 3 and onwards.

    PSP version with original OST patch is... still the weakest Persona game but far better than this rating suggests.

      it's also weird how good the OST is outside of the context of the game, like School Days is one of the best pop tracks Meguro has ever done, but it just doesn't work here
