Confused as to why this is the highest rated here when it's like, clearly the worst one to me. Is dragged down so bad by the caves, and have no idea what people see in the rest of it that isn't done better in either (or both) Pikmin 1 + 3
Yeah. I like this better than Pikmin 4 because of the superior atmosphere and I prefer my Pikmin less streamlined. But the caves really mess with the pacing. They put both games squarely below 1 and 3 for me
I love how absolutely, ridiculously unfair some of the caves are in this game. normally it would bother me in any other kind of game, but I dunno it just works in pikmin.
I have deep-seated emotional issues from playing this game. Absolutely insidious design decision to have the Man-at-Legs completely subvert the way arachnorbs are traditionally fought, and to have the generally most viable pikmin type be the weakest against it.
While the increased scope this game introduced to the series goes against what I liked about the first one, I really enjoy the journey this game takes me on. The Wistful Wild really feels like you're traveling to the ends of the earth with how different the atmosphere is and how long and vicious those caves are.
