The Legend of Zelda[ゼルダの伝説] homage with some of the best atmosphere and combat I've seen in a top-down action-adventure. There isn't much to it, but what it does, it does extremely well. Zipping around maps with your quickdash feels great. Combat only gets better after you unlock the shotgun and grenades. Combat is all you'll be doing here which makes the adventure rather one-note. The only other aspect of the game is hunting for secrets which is also very rewarding. You learn to realize what to look for when exploring which makes the game hard to put down, as you want to see what's around the corner. With so little going on, I wish the game was a bit more challenging. I only died a couple times near the end. The bosses are especially disappointing due to how quickly they go down. This game could have benefited from some more epic boss fights like the ones in Dark Souls that can go on for minutes. A sequel could benefit from adding more variety with puzzle mechanics and more challenge, but what's here is extremely enjoyable and addicting.

Linking When you mention an album, artist, film, game, label, etc - it's recommended to link to the item the first time you mention it. Doing so will make it easier to search for your post and give it more visibility. To link an item, use the search box above, or find the shortcut that appears on the page that you want to link. You can customize the link name of shortcuts by using the format [Artist12345,Custom Name].

I do think that because the game took a risk on having no dialogue and mostly no text it could've had more work on being more intuitive and the ui being easier to understand
overrated. I don't know wtf is even going on half the time and the fights seems so 1-dimensional: there's one way you 'solve' each of them. Beyond that it relies on retro graphics and a score by the maestro... not enough to carry this as a great game
Phenomenal game. The vague, unintuitive UI is a feature, not a bug. The visuals and music are outstanding. It all contributes to a world that is singularly unfamiliar and totally unique. The mechanics and gameplay are simple enough to understand in spite of this, and the gameplay loop is just pure fun. I really, really enjoyed this; this is what indie games should be.
