Feels like there's something here, but exploring in this just does not feel interesting or rewarding to me. Felt an overwhelming feeling of "don't wanna deal with this" anytime anything happened.
I will never forget Acid Wizard Studio, who themselves uploaded their game on PirateBay and said "We want everyone to enjoy our game. If you like it, consider buying it on a sale if you can afford it".
This game is fucking fantastic, but it feels like there were conflicting visions for the game when it comes to the death mechanics. Normal is a joke, there's no penalty for dying, it literally allows you to skip every night for free. While the permadeath of hard and nightmare just don't work considering only the layout of the map changes from playthrough to playthrough, and there are so many scripted events that you have to go through again if you game over.
The devs for this game just announced a 5-10 year hiatus from making games to allow for a better work/life cycle. Dang I guess no more video games from them then lmao
