After spending an insane amount of hours on "Animal Crossing", I can confidently say that it's not worth it. It's a relaxing activity for killing time, but as a game, it offers so little interaction that it almost feels like playing dollhouse. No matter if there are nearly infinite choices of furniture, clothes, wallpapers, and collectibles, all your character can do is sit down and make funny faces. It seems that the game experience will be expanded with future updates, but in the last three months, all we could get was a couple of events that just add yet one more set of furniture and clothes. It's also a pity that the game lets you cheat by changing the date and void the efforts of the players who spent time finding all collectibles and customizations. There is a (quite insipid and primitive) multiplayer mode, and it feels terrible to visit people's islands and find their museum mysteriously completed, their houses full of luxury items one week after the release. The fastest way to make money is by buying and selling "turnips" (in Japanese, turnips, or "kabu", also means "stocks"). They can be purchased only on Sunday mornings, their value fluctuates until they rot in seven days. Needless to say that changing date continuously allows people to conveniently buy and sell turnips and become rich in a matter of hours. If you play by the rules, you are left years behind the other players, and the developers are well aware of that.
