Amnesia: Collection

I purchased this game to watch my wife play it. I'm not into horror movies or games. Although, she is not into games at all, so this was going to be a first for her too.

I chose Amnesia just because I had heard the name and a few friends had said it was one of the best games of the genre. Despite being an older game (and of course running on the Switch) didn't detract from the scariness. Like seriously, there were moments when we would pass the Switch to the other person and say "No! You go through that door... isn't it your turn now" because there were so many genuinely spine tingling moments.

After finishing the original title over the course of a few weeks, we played a little of included Machine for Pigs but it's safe to say we had our horror fix with the base game and so we didn't complete the other games included in the collection.

Like I said, I'm not a good person to judge a game like this because I would have never bought it for myself. However, I can say it does an excellent job of really ratcheting up the terror with every aspect; the very dark gamma, the downright uncomfortable noises in the soundtrack and the overall helplessness feeling of knowing that if you're seen that's pretty much it for you. It does an excellent job of really transporting you into that scenario and totally forgetting it's just a game.
