attempting to create a representation of something which can be plainly experienced, especially with the intent of making it as accurate as possible, involves reducing reality to solely the elements that we as humans can understand and manipulate. i think the best parts of reality are the ones outside of the human understanding of it. every human-made simulation of reality is generally a collection of scientific data, which is great if your bag is cellular automata and generative stuff but at my current point i'm much more interested in the idea of a general whole aspect of reality that isn't able to be catalogued and inputted as data, something maybe more spiritual. human bias also enters the creation of a simulation, there is no one agreed on understanding of how the world works and any one attempt to figure it out starts with what the person creating it feels most important, which is a stunted experience of reality for everyone who isn't them. better to create a simulation of something that isn't able to be experienced just by existing, i think.
