@ russalex86: Thanks. Part of a major Robert Ryan thing I have going on in my spare time. Despite some thematic weaknesses in that film, he makes it worth a look.
I just read your review for The American and I felt as if you wrote down my exact thoughts of the film. I just scrolled through your ratings and you seem to have a great taste in movies. I'm only a little sad that The Boondock Saints is so far down but I guess there's always these couple of movies where one has to disagree with the other. I'm really not a big fan of Bergman or Kurosawa for instance. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading more of your reviews.
@ TheDrPepperPower - I hear you. I have my favorite reviewers on here too and always feel a little crestfallen when they hate some chestnut I love or adore something I think is a piece of crap. I totally get the Boondock Saints cult appreciation thing. I'm just not a member of the cult. For the record, team_vampire's review is even more scathing than mine...
In my opinion, Black Swan was Aronofsky's attempt at being Perfect Blue than Persona, since he is more influenced by Satoshi Kon than by Ingmar Bergman.
