My ratings & reviews mean nothing to anyone but me. One man's trash is another man's treasure! and vice-versa. It's fun to see what other people think of stuff I love or dislike.

I own a record store, play a little music from time to time and do part time work for a small town radio station. That's enough to keep me busy!

Never thought I'd run into someone else who's a fan of Gentle Giant AND Steppenwolf! Cheers from Canada :)

Steppenwolf is one of those artists where, if you compile your favourite tracks onto a CD-R, it's easy to believe they're one of the greatest and most under-rated bands in history. Too bad their albums are mostly very uneven affairs. My big sister got me into them way back when I was a pre-teen, and I still play my compilation CD-R of them at least twice a year.

Gentle Giant was one of those bands I was just very lucky to stumble upon back in '76, because god knows they weren't promoted anywhere in the backwater I lived in. They're probably in my personal Top 10 or Top 15 artists.

I had the chance to see one of the later Kay led lineups in the early 80's at some small bar in Raleigh. They blew the roof off of the place. A great show. I've picked up nearly all of their albums over the years. The ABC albums are certainly the best and the rest are hit and miss affairs, mostly miss. With Gentle Giant, I first heard Interview and didn't care for it much but as I got further interested in Prog I found the earlier albums and was blown away by the musicianship. I ended up with all of their albums and Interview has grown on me since then.

Thanks, I was amazed to see that no one else has reviewed it yet. I'm hoping to see some other reviews that more thoroughly cover the music than I (rather superficially) did. The album was a great accompaniment to yesterday's long drive home from Portland OR.

Just saw your review of the Charlie Watts album. I was lucky enough to see Charlie and his orchestra at Toronto's Massey Hall, circa 1986. I remember the trombonist Annie Whitehead as a real standout that night.

It's an excellent record. I've picked up all of his albums and this might be the best.

I wasn't going to check out the new Bob Dylan album, but your review convinced me to give it a shot. Great job.

I was a bit skeptical as well, but it's Dylan so I was going to get in any case. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I'm glad my review was helpful to you! Thanks!
