I'm far from, like, someone who agrees with a lot of the album ratings on here, but that's one of the best albums I've ever heard for sure. The lyrics aren't really funny I don't think; they were just inspired by horrible, haunting dreams that Jeff Mangum had, many of which had to do with Anne Frank. Sometimes they're just silly, but they're also weirdly beautiful, I think. Certainly nothing that makes the album any less good.

I don't know if that album worked that way with me, though many have been like that. I doubt anything will ever beat London Calling, though
